A note from Amy Antonelli, Executive Director of Rising Star Outreach

Rising Star Outreach is honored to welcome Tal and Anita Eyre to campus in 2010. They will be working in the leprosy colonies of Southern India providing medical assistance and micro-loans and at the school teaching children from the leprosy colonies. Due to the stigma associated with the disease, leprosy still claims victims in India every day. The Eyres will help Rising Star Outreach provide those families with tools to live a productive, happy life.

When Tal and Anita first expressed interest in coming to volunteer, their enthusiasm was obvious. Though they've never even seen the leprosy colonies, they still they feel compelled to give of their time and serve them. It will be interesting to see how Tal and Anita will add to the Rising Star story by sharing their unique gifts and talents. We felt strongly that they have something important to contribute, and we can't wait to see what it is.

My challenge to you is to support them, follow their blog, and join them in their service through your prayers and emails. India is hot, sweaty, and dirty - their work will not be easy. At the end of their visit they will likely be more exhausted than they've ever been in their lives. But in the process, they'll have been changed for the better in ways they can't imagine, and they will have changed the lives of those they serve. Be a part of that change as you partner with them to bless the lives of those with leprosy.

Sincerely,

Amy Antonelli
Executive Director
Rising Star Outreach
